Adding Images without an Automatic Imaging System

If you do not have an automatic imaging system, you can manually insert your own drop images. To do so, you must first create an inspection and then update your images.

Manually Creating Inspections

  1. Make sure your experiment is marked as dispensed. If it is not, right-click the experiment in the Explorer and select Mark as Dispensed.
  2. Click the Inspections tab in the Images contextual tab set and click the Create New button in the Inspection group.
  3. Click OK on the message that says “Inspection Created”.
  4. Manually update your images (see below).

Manually Updating Images

Rock Maker allows you to manually insert images into wells. If the well already contains an image, it will be replaced with the new one you select. You can also use this feature to insert images into wells that do not currently have images (for example, if you are creating an inspection manually).

To update images:

  1. While in Image view, select the target wells.
  2. Click the Import button in the Inspection Package group on the Inspections tab of the Images contextual tab set.
  3. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the image you wish to place in the selected wells and click Open. A progress bar displays to show you the progress of the update.
